PhotoSweeper

PhotoSweeper is a local-first iOS photo cleanup tool. I own the product definition, interaction design, and development, and continue improving the complete experience through regular use.

When storage runs low, the real job is to find the biggest, most disposable items quickly. The native photo flow is slow and does not make file size or cleanup progress central to the decision.

Cleanup is not casual browsing. It is a short, goal-driven task: reclaim as much space as possible, safely, in limited time.

A user starts with largest-first or random review, swipes to keep or stage items, reviews the deletion set, confirms once, and sees how much storage the session reclaimed.

Every efficiency feature needed a corresponding control or safety decision.

• Attack Mode orders by size so each decision has more impact.
• A review queue prevents fast gestures from becoming irreversible mistakes.
• Compression, cropping, and similarity tools stay inside the same review context.

The product grew from a swipe-delete loop to build 21+, adding size caching, similar-photo detection, photo and video compression, cropping, background queues, session length, and minimum-size filters—without abandoning the same core job.

Current evidence is a complete working iOS product, repeated personal use, and a full flow that ends in reclaimed storage. A demo video and approved interface media will be added later.

A useful productivity product is not just faster. It keeps the outcome understandable and gives the user room to recover while moving quickly.
